Lok Sabha Election : Rajnath Singh Addresses

During a public gathering in Karnal, Haryana, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took a dig at the Opposition by referring to the ‘Emergency period’ enforced by Indira Gandhi in 1975. Rajnath Singh highlighted the irony of the situation, stating that while some claim that if PM Modi secures over 400 seats, it would endanger democracy and lead to dictatorship, Indira Gandhi herself disregarded the moral obligation to resign as PM after losing the election in 1975. Instead, she imposed the Emergency, suffocating democracy.

Lok Sabha Election : Shashi Tharoor

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has weighed in on the Swati Maliwal assault case, expressing his opinion that the statement released by AAP is flawless and doesn’t need any further input. Tharoor strongly believes that this case is a deliberate ploy to divert attention from the crucial issues affecting ordinary Indians, such as unemployment and inflation. He urges the media not to play into the hands of the BJP, who often manipulate them as a means of distraction. Tharoor emphasizes that focusing on real issues is in everyone’s best interest.

He believed that the BJP’s victory in the 2019 elections was primarily due to the emphasis on national security issues like the Pulwama attack and Balakot response, which diverted attention from economic matters. Tharoor acknowledged the challenge of replicating the BJP’s success in 11 states, as evident from the lower voter turnout in their strongholds. Conversely, areas with enthusiastic support for the Congress and INDIA Alliance experienced higher levels of voter participation.

Lok Sabha Election : Atishi

During a press conference yesterday, Atishi, a prominent leader of the AAP, confidently declared that the people of Delhi are firmly backing the INDIA alliance and will award them all seven Lok Sabha seats. She emphasized that this strong support has triggered the BJP to launch conspiracies against Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party right from the moment the election dates were made public. Atishi further expressed her dismay at the fact that Arvind Kejriwal was apprehended by the ED within a mere five days of the election dates being announced, despite the lack of any substantial evidence.

According to Atishi, the Haryana BJP government had a secret plan to disrupt the lives of Delhi residents by cutting off the water supply. She mentioned that an investigation revealed that the flow of Yamuna water to Delhi was intentionally stopped, pointing fingers at the Haryana government’s role in this scheme.
