Amit Shah : The BJP has already secured 310 seats
Amit Shah stated that under BJP leadership, Odisha will see progress with a dedicated and enthusiastic young chief minister at the helm.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has exceeded 310 seats in the current Lok Sabha election, according to Union home minister Amit Shah. He expressed confidence that the party will reach its target of 400 seats after the remaining two phases of polling.
During a public address in Odisha’s Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency, he emphasized the importance of winning over 75 Assembly seats in the state elections to establish a government.
He stated that the primary goal of the current election is to enhance the country’s strength, secure a third term for Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, and promote the development of Odisha along with reviving Odia pride.
Shah targeted chief minister Naveen Patnaik and his close aide VK Pandian, who is originally from Tamil Nadu, accusing them of imposing the ‘Babushahi’ (Babu culture) in Odisha and showing disrespect towards Odia culture. Shah highlighted the irony of Odisha, a state rich in natural resources, remaining poor under Patnaik’s governance, with his bureaucrats allegedly exploiting these resources. Shah questioned the suitability of a Tamil bureaucrat governing Utkal and emphasized the importance of having someone who can speak Odia and uphold the traditions of Lord Jagannath in power. He further stated that after 25 years, a government will be formed in Odisha that prioritizes Odia language, culture, and literature.
Our vision is to transform Odisha into a place where no youth has to seek work outside the state, away from their loved ones. With its natural beauty, rich resources, and industrious population, Odisha has all the ingredients for success. All it needs is a chief minister who is willing to put in the hard work. Elect BJP and witness the development of Odisha under a young and energetic leader.
Western Odisha has been neglected by the BJD, but the BJP is focused on the overall development of Odisha. With 27 lakh families lacking homes, 26 lakh households without access to clean water, closed schools, and the state ranking 29th in ease of doing business, Shah accuses the Naveen Patnaik government of only taking credit for central schemes and providing empty promises, while Modi is offering free rice.
Shah raised concerns about the Ratna Bhandar of Puri’s Jagannath temple, questioning the secrecy surrounding the number of times its doors were opened and the withholding of the judicial commission’s report on the missing keys for six years. He assured that once the BJP government takes charge in Odisha, they will reveal the inventory details of Ratna Bhandar, assessed by the RBI, and share the commission report with the public.
In response to the jibes made by Shah and Modi about the Ratna Bhandar issue, VK Pandian, a prominent BJD leader, stated that he intends to invite PM Modi to witness the long-awaited opening of Ratna Bhandar after a span of forty years.
If the Prime Minister really knows so much, he should figure out where the keys of Jagannath Temple Ratna Bhandar have gone. I would kindly request the honorable PM to enlighten the people of Odisha since he has so many authorities under him. It seems like he’s just making a political statement, so let’s take it as such. The BJP ministers were in power for a decade in alliance with the BJD, so maybe they should ask them where the keys are.
