Mohanlal Embarks on an Exciting Mission in Empuraan
L2: Empuraan New Poster: Mohanlal
In Lucifer’s first-look poster, Mohanlal was seen in a white ensemble with a serious expression, whereas Empuraan’s poster features him in all black, resembling a mafia boss. Unlike Lucifer’s subtle hint at darkness, Empuraan’s poster boldly showcases Khureshi-Ab’raam’s wicked nature.
Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar, marked another year on Tuesday (May 21), and his fans were eagerly anticipating news about his upcoming film L2: Empuraan. Director Prithviraj Sukumaran unveiled the first-look poster of Mohanlal’s character on this special day. Empuraan, the second part of a planned trilogy following the success of Lucifer in 2019, will see Mohanlal returning as Khureshi-Ab’raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally. The new poster hints at a significant expansion in scale and scope compared to the previous installment.
In the poster, we see Mohanlal making his way towards the camera, accompanied by heavily armed bodyguards holding machine guns. The dominant black and grey tones create a sense of suspense and excitement, indicating that the movie will be packed with thrilling action.
Mohanlal took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to caption his post with the hashtags #KhureshiAbraam #L2E #Empuraan in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
Earlier today, Prithviraj Sukumaran shared a photo with Mohanlal from the Empuraan sets. In the caption, he wished the actor a happy birthday. The movie’s first look, unveiled in November last year, had already gone viral online.
Empuraan, written by Murali Gopy, stars Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sai Kumar, Baiju Santhosh, Saniya Iyappan, and Sachin Khedekar, reprising their roles from Lucifer. The film is a collaboration between Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, and is expected to hit screens next year in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
