Chandu Champion : Kartik Aaryan Movie
The tale of Chandu Champion revolves around a man striving to achieve his goal of becoming a champion. He enlists in the Army to train and perfect his skills, with the ultimate aim of representing India in the Olympics.
Finally, after keeping his fans guessing about his character in the highly anticipated film Chandu Champion, Kartik Aaryan has dropped the trailer of his most demanding project. And guess what? He decided to launch it in his own hometown, Gwalior, adding a personal touch to the grand reveal. Brace yourself, because this trailer is a total knockout!
Over the weekend, the Captain Roop Singh Cricket stadium in Gwalior was jam-packed with fans and admirers of the actor. They arrived early, braving the heat, to welcome Kartik with enthusiasm, cheers, whistles, chants, and fireworks.
The trailer shows Kartik delivering a powerful punch
The movie, directed by Kabir Khan, stars Kartik as a boxer, wrestler, and soldier. It’s a biopic on Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. The trailer beautifully captures Kartik’s journey and transformation, both on screen and in real life. Chandu Champion tells the story of a man with dreams of becoming a champion, who enlists in the Army to train for the Olympics.
In the trailer, we see Kartik as Chandu waking up from a coma in 1967, two years after being wounded in war. The audience is then taken on an emotional journey, witnessing a young Chandu sharing his ambition of becoming a wrestler with his schoolteacher. Despite facing mockery from classmates who call him ‘Chandu Champion,’ that name becomes a part of his identity, representing his battle to erase it from his life.
We can’t let the show stop
Despite the heartbreaking loss of his relatives in the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse, Kartik demonstrated his indomitable spirit by unveiling the film’s trailer just days later on Saturday.
Manoj Chansoria and Anita Chansoria, who were Kartik’s relatives, were sadly part of the 16 casualties in the tragic hoarding collapse in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area on Monday. Kartik made sure to attend their funeral.
Just a few days following a personal tragedy, Kartik linked up with Kabir and producer Sajid Nadiadwalala for the event. During the trailer launch, he was asked about his emotions being back in his hometown, to which he replied, “This is like a dream come true for me. This is the place where I aspired to become an actor, and showcasing the most demanding film of my career here is extremely special.”
You know, my life is a whirlwind right now, but I can’t let that stop me. I’m really lucky that all of you could be here for the film’s trailer launch,” he said, as the crowd cheered enthusiastically.
After the 2021 release of 83, a movie starring Ranveer Singh that revolves around the Indian cricket team’s victory at the 1983 World Cup in England, Kabir made an exciting announcement about Chandu Champion. This upcoming film is also inspired by a true story, following the remarkable journey of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. Petkar achieved this incredible feat by winning a gold medal at the 1972 Summer Paralympics held in Germany.
Kabir recently shared the film poster and wrote, “The tale of ‘Chandu Champion’ is incredibly inspiring, but Kartik’s transformation into this champion is equally remarkable. I met him when he had gained weight for a role, with a body fat percentage of 39. I told him he had to portray a world-class athlete. He just smiled and said, ‘I’ll do it, Sir.’ A year and a half later, without any use of steroids as he strongly believed, we captured this photo on set. Body fat reduced to 7%! I’m really proud of you!”
Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan have teamed up to produce a film that will premiere on the big screen on June 14.
